To be raised up whether still alive or dead is a good thing. We will be rid of this body and be free from this sinful nature called our flesh. And we will be given a new body one that is purified. We will be free from physical and emotional ailments. We will be with all the saints who have gone before us. We will finally see our Savoir and Lord, Jesus and our Father. It will be a good place to be. 

So then if heaven is our home and our hope, why do we live for the short-term pleasures of the world?

Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For everything that belongs to the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one’s lifestyle — is not from the Father, but is from the world. And the world with its lust is passing away, but the one who does God’s will remains forever.

God is the one who raised Jesus from the dead will raise up all the true believers of Jesus. And the same spirit, the Holy Spirit, that lived in Jesus lives in us as a downpayment from Jesus that He will return and gather all His brothers and sisters unto Himself.

The Word of God is #1 living!

​ I want to take the next 4 to 6 posts in BQTT to dwell on what “the word of God is”. The Word of God is #1 living! In our hands, we do not hold some dusty old relic of some 35 to 40 authors. But a living book written by God through the hands of many different people over 1,000’s of years. Have you ever been reading a normal book and a few words jump off the page to say, “Hey, read me again.”? I bet there have been very few times this has happened, but now, how often have the words written in the Bible done that for you? If you spend any amount of time reading the Bible I would say it has happened more than the normal literature.  Last night I was lying down and a verse reference popped into my head. I did not immediately know the words of this verse but had to look it up.  The verse was, “Who makes a god or casts a metal image for no profit?” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44‬:‭10‬ ‭HCSB ‬‬ This is another aspect of the Bible being alive.
