“Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest; then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats will overflow with new wine.” Proverbs 3:9-10 HCSB
Does honoring the Lord stop with your money? What about everything in your hand?
“The Lord asked him, “What is that in your hand?”
“A staff,” he replied.”
Exodus 4:2 HCSB

This was the staff of Moses and by this staff, he was able to accomplish many of the plagues of Egypt. He also struck two rocks and water came out of them. This was the same staff that he was holding when the red sea split and he and all Israel crossed on dry ground. But once Moses did not honor the Lord with his staff. Moses was told to speak to the second rock but instead, he had to hit it twice. From that day on Moses was not allowed to enter the promised land.
“Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, so that a great amount of water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank. But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust Me to show My holiness in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this assembly into the land I have given them.”

What would have happened if Moses had not honored the Lord and not thrown it down?
“Then He said, “Throw it on the ground.” He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake. Moses ran from it, but the Lord told him, “Stretch out your hand and grab it by the tail.” So he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand.”

Then Moses could have never used it to accomplish all that God had for him.
About what is in our hands? Have we honored God with all we have? is he honored with the cars, houses, and extra fun stuff we own? Is he honored by the time we spend on our phones and television screens? We are wanting our barns or bank accounts to be filled but we cannot truly accomplish this without first honoring God with what He has given to us.
Listen to the master’s words to the one who was not faithful with the little he was given.
“Then the man who had received one talent also approached and said, ‘Master, I know you. You’re a difficult man, reaping where you haven’t sown and gathering where you haven’t scattered seed. So I was afraid and went off and hid your talent in the ground. Look, you have what is yours.’
“But his master replied to him, ‘You evil, lazy slave! If you knew that I reap where I haven’t sown and gather where I haven’t scattered, then you should have deposited my money with the bankers. And when I returned I would have received my money back with interest. “
‘So take the talent from him and give it to the one who has 10 talents. For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have more than enough. But from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. And throw this good-for-nothing slave into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Matthew 25:24-30 HCSB

The one talent servant did nothing with the one talent he had been given but also was able to return it to the king whole and complete. He did not lose any of it. He was unwilling to honor his master with it and his bank account was drained because of it.
So honor the Lord with all you have in all your time including the first part of all you have then all you have will be filled to overflowing.
