“Never let loyalty and faithfulness leave you. Tie them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:3-4‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Loyalty and Faithfulness seem to be lacking in the world as a whole. We have let hatred and discord permitted throughout the land. If we continue in this direction we will not see favor or high regard in the sight of God and man.

The story is told, one day a hired hand was out scouting the field of his boss and he saw several of a neighbors’ cows out loose. And he told his boss that he would go and steal the cows for his boss. To which the boss told him, “No if you were to steal for me you will steal from me!” On that day the hired hand lost favor and high regard from his boss because he was not loyal nor faithful.

It is not just about being faithful to those who are looking but to those who are maybe enemies or neighbors.

“If you see your brother’s ox or sheep straying, you must not ignore it; make sure you return it to your brother. If you see your brother’s donkey or ox fallen down on the road, you must not ignore it; you must help him lift it up.”

“If you come across your enemy’s stray ox or donkey, you must return it to him. If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying helpless under its load, and you want to refrain from helping it, you must help with it.”

“If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; for you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.”

“But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.”

Loyalty and faithfulness should be qualities that are a part of the everyday life of a Christian. God is not after people who are jumping from one ministry to another. There are seasons for change but to attend church one week here and one or two weeks there is and one or two weeks nowhere is not what God is looking for. But rather we are use discernment to see where God is planting us and to remain until God plants us somewhere else.

Loyalty and faithfulness are to be present at our secular and church jobs. We are to work with all our heart as working not for our boss but for our God. We are to serve with all our ability and be above reproach as we do.

“Slaves, obey your human masters in everything. Don’t work only while being watched, in order to please men, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:22-24‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

“Daniel distinguished himself above the administrators and satraps because he had an extraordinary spirit, so the king planned to set him over the whole realm. The administrators and satraps, therefore, kept trying to find a charge against Daniel regarding the kingdom. But they could find no charge or corruption, for he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was found in him. Then these men said, “We will never find any charge against this Daniel unless we find something against him concerning the law of his God.”

Loyalty and faithfulness are to be worn necklaces. They will be works that are done and everyone will notice them. If they are not then disloyalty and faithlessness will rule our lives and we will look like the rest of the world around us and favor and high regard will not be granted to us.
