The Christian Life Does Not End in Death

“Now Paul stayed two full years in his own rented lodging and welcomed all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching things about the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness, unhindered.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:30-31‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Luke finishes up his letter to Theophilus (Acts 1:1) with Paul still in Roman custody but free to live on his own awaiting trial. Luke did not finish with the death of Paul, but with the freedom of Paul. If he had ended with the death of Paul then Theophilus might surmise that the Christian life will only end in death, but he ended it with Paul preaching the kingdom of God and teaching things about the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness, unhindered. Just as Luke was to continue to do. Just as Theophilus was to do. Just as we are to do! The Christian life does not end in death but in life and freedom in Jesus!

Have you found the freedom that Jesus paid for on the cross? Have you found life from the risen Jesus who now lives seated next to God his father and yours? If not and you're still alive then you can.

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

“that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:9-10‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Then you should start praying something like this.

“Lord Jesus, I understand I am a sinful person but you paid my ransom on the cross so many years ago. I now accept you as my Savior and my Lord. I want to live my life for you. Come and live in me with your Holy Spirit so that I may live in the freedom you offer.” Continue praying as your heart leads you.

If you have prayed something similar with your heart, welcome to the freedom of God. And remember that you now have God on your side and He was to be your friend and father.
