Are your shepherds sleeping?
“Your shepherds are sleeping, O king of Assyria; Your nobles are lying down. Your people are scattered on the mountains And there is no one to regather them.”
Nahum 3:18 NASB1995

Assyria has lost accountability among its people. There is no moral law among the inhabitants. Why? There were no morals in the leadership. The shepherds were sleeping. The people who knew right from wrong were not challenging the common and the nobles.
Ezekiel used the term watchman rather than shepherd.
“Now as for you, son of man, I have appointed you a watchman for the house of Israel; so you will hear a message from My mouth and give them warning from Me. When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require from your hand. But if you on your part warn a wicked man to turn from his way and he does not turn from his way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your life.”

Do we still have shepherds and watchmen who are guarding people and watching over people, challenging them to stay the straight and narrow? Does your pastor encourage righteous living? Does your podcast deepen your relationship with God? What you're watching is it helping you to worship God? Who we lean on will determine our course of life!
“Behold, you rely on the staff of this crushed reed, even on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who rely on him.”

There is hope! It is Jesus! He is not a splintered reed! He is the one who will strengthen a bruised reed. He will not put out a fire that is dimly lit for Him! He is our shepherd and we recognize His voice.
“A bruised reed He will not break And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish; He will faithfully bring forth justice.”

“I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd.”

There is a morality that will be raised up in the last days and it will be the rule of the land rather than an exception. Let us practice it now so that when it comes time to live by it, it will be common practice for us!
“And He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
