Do you have a “yet” for all of life’s “though’s”

“Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail And the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls,”

‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

How you would finish Habakkuk’s “though” statements? There should be a “yet” statement. Habakkuk is listing a bunch of calamities that are either happening or he fears might happen. But they are external circumstances and not the condition of his heart. The “yet” statement is the condition of his heart!

How would you finish his “though” statements with a “yet” statement? Would you finish with “yet I will give up. There is no hope!” Or would you respond with what he responded with…

“Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.”

‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Are our “yet” statements tied to our Faith or fear?

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

And fear is the dread things imagined, the doubt that things will only get worse.

What are your “though” statements today? What on the outside is looking bleak and down-hearting? Can you look into these and find a hole where God can make a “yet” happen? Can you find a way that God can turn it around and cause it for your good? If you can’t I know that God can!

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
