In Him, we have all we need.

“From them will come the cornerstone, From them the tent peg, From them the bow of battle, From them every ruler, all of them together.”

‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭10‬:‭4‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Who is them that Zechariah is talking about? In verse 3 we find “For the Lord of hosts has visited His flock, the house of Judah, And will make them like His majestic horse in battle.” So now we know that from His flock, the house of Judah, will come the cornerstone, the tent peg, the bow, and every ruler. But more than that we see that all of them together. It will not be a cornerstone, and a tent peg, and a bow, but all will be wrapped up into one person. We now know this person as Jesus!

“He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.”

“But I will have compassion on the house of Judah and deliver them by the Lord their God, and will not deliver them by bow, sword, battle, horses or horsemen.”

‭‭Hosea‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND Lord OF LORDS.”

In Him, we have all we need. He is the foundation of our faith in His church. He is the anchor that holds us on the Rock of His salvation. He is the ever-present help in the days of battle. He is the best boss, governor, government, and Lord! Have you put your Hope in Him so that He alone is your savior? Or are we still clinging to our works or righteousness to save us?

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“Know, then, it is not because of your righteousness that the Lord your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stubborn people.”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

The two men who died on the cross the same day as Jesus had no time to do anything but one did find it in his heart to ask to join Jesus in His kingdom. And it was granted to Him. Salvation is not earned through works but through faith alone in Jesus!

“Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.”

‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭21‬-‭24‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

But we are justified by our works!

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’”
