I will be their God

The writer of Hebrews is once again quoting a passage from the Old Testament from Jeremiah 31:31-34. And in it, God is promising a new covenant to be set up with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. During this new covenant, God will be the supreme Lord in everyone's heart and actions. There will no longer be teachers, preachers, and evangelists. Because everyone will know God in a personal manner.

But right now we are not in this covenant we are in the interim covenant between the Old Covenant with Moses and this new covenant. We are living in an age where we have to teach how to live for God. And The devil is still the supreme influence in the land. We must work to know God. The Holy Spirit is here to help us to know what is right and wrong and how to live for God in each moment. And we must still declare to our brothers, “know the Lord!”

“Behold, I will gather them out of all the lands to which I have driven them in My anger, in My wrath and in great indignation; and I will bring them back to this place and make them dwell in safety. They shall be My people, and I will be their God; and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me always, for their own good and for the good of their children after them.”

“I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people. And the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever.”
