The farmer waits for the harvest!
“Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains.”
James 5:7 NASB1995

First things first we must ask, What is, therefore, there for”? In James 5:1-6 James warns the rich of the coming wrath of their wealth. It has rotted in their piggy banks not paying the pay due to the workers under them.
But to the righteous James offers this encouragement, “be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord!” The Lord is coming to give the laborers their just back pay.
“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.”
Proverbs 13:22 NASB1995

I believe we are getting ready for the wealth of the sinners of the world to be redistributed to the righteous. They will have a lack and we will have an abundance.
But for now, we must be the farmers working to prep the fields and then wait for the return on our labor.
“And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, “Behold, the sower went out to sow; and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up. Others fell on the rocky places, where they did not have much soil; and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of soil. But when the sun had risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them out. And others fell on the good soil and *yielded a crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty. He who has ears, let him hear.” And He said, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,”

We are both the farmer and the ground. We are the ground when God sows His word upon us and the world. We are also the farmer sowing the Word of God into all the world. And we wait to see what happens to the seed for we can do nothing once it leaves our hands. We wait for the Birds to come and start eating it up, we wait for the early rain to give it protection from the birds and give it roots to grow. We wait for the summer heat to scorch some who have short roots. We wait for the latter rain in the world to increase the harvest. Then when the fruit is ripe we get to share in the harvest of souls when some will be thrown into the fire and some will be welcomed into His barn.
“Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.”
Matthew 13:30 NASB1995

I do believe also we are in the later rains of this world when God will pour out His spirit on all flesh.
“‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says, ‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams;”
Acts 2:17 NASB1995

“It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions.”
Joel 2:28 NASB1995

Will we be found to be a field ready for the latter rain? Will we be the righteous that wealth has been stored up for? Will we be the farmer looking for the rain to come and increase our harvest?
In my area, we have had several extended revivals where churches are having people get saved and baptized with other churches joining them to grab ahold of the fire in that revival to take back to their church. Are you taking part in these revivals if they are happening in your area?
