His Strength
His strength
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.”
Who is God talking to? Who is with God?
“But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham, My friend — I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its farthest corners. I said to you: You are My servant; I have chosen you and not rejected you.”
Isaiah 41:8-9 HCSB
Israel, Jacob, a chosen servant! Can we as Christians claim this for ourselves?
“Now if some of the branches were broken off, and you, though a wild olive branch, were grafted in among them and have come to share in the rich root of the cultivated olive tree, do not brag that you are better than those branches. But if you do brag — you do not sustain the root, but the root sustains you. Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” True enough; they were broken off by unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you either.”
Romans 11:17-21 HCSB
Paul tells us that some of the “Jewish” people were cut off from the root of God and those who accepted Jesus were grafted in and became Israelites in God.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
Peter tells us that we are a chosen people. A race of Mankind that God breathed life into. I am not talking about a race on the outside for God does not look on the outside, but a race on the inside that will determine in their hearts to love God and love people! When this is alive in us we are able to say as Paul said,
“I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13 HCSB
When we are living our best life for God, He comes to help us and strengthen us!
“But now you must also put away all the following: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self. You are being renewed in knowledge according to the image of your Creator. In Christ there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free; but Christ is all and in all.”
Colossians 3:8-11 HCSB
Live in His strength and not in your own.
