Jesus replied, “I assure you: The Son is not able to do anything on His own, but only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does these things in the same way.” John 5:19 HCSB

I see three assurances by Jesus here in chapter 5 verses 19,24, and 25.   Assurance number one! Jesus does nothing on His own, but what He see The Father doing. Jesus’ example is The Father. He does not speak unless the father speaks. he does not move until The Father moves. What a picture! Jesus is completely reliant on The Father. That is to be us too. We are to wholly rely on Jesus for everything. The Bible never says God helps them who help themselves. It does say that those who rely on Him will not be ashamed. “For this gospel I was appointed a herald, apostle, and teacher, and that is why I suffer these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know the One I have believed in and am persuaded that He is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day.” 2 Timothy 1:11-12 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/2ti.1.11-12.hcsb “If only my ways were committed to keeping Your statutes! Then I would not be ashamed when I think about all Your commands.” Psalms 119:5-6 HCSB

“I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:13 HCSB

“You believe that God is one; you do well. The demons also believe — and they shudder.” James 2:19 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/jas.2.19.hcsb Believe - pisteuō (Greek root word): to think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in.  The same belief in the name of Jesus should be in us that is in the demons, not for fear but for life. We believe (to place confidence in) to result in Eternal Life.  The demons believe (To think or know to be true) and shutter because they know they are on the wrong side. God does however expect us to tremble in great respect for Him, His word, and our salvation. “I tremble in awe of You; I fear Your judgments.” Psalms 119:120 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/psa.119.120.hcsb “My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the Lord’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at My word.” Isaiah 66:2 HCSB https://www.bible.c

“The one who has the Son has life. The one who doesn’t have the Son of God does not have life.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:12‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

If we as Christians are jealous of anyone else’s life especially the world’s then we are sinning.  “Do not covet your neighbor’s house. Do not covet your neighbor’s wife, his male or female slave, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭20:17‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ https://www.bible.com/72/exo.20.17.hcsb “Do not covet your neighbor’s wife or desire your neighbor’s house, his field, his male or female slave, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ https://www.bible.com/72/deu.5.21.hcsb If we are desiring more in our life especially the things of God then we are on the verge of growing In Christ. Life is promised to us. And God desires for us a life more abundantly  “A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.” ‭‭John‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ https://www.bible.com/72/jhn.10.10.hcsb The world has nothing to promise in life to us. Our whole life should

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.” 1 John 5:11 HCSB

God’s testimony is eternal life through His Son. Three three times in the Gospels God speaks, twice to affirm that Jesus is His son, and once to respond to a prayer of Jesus to His father.   “After Jesus was baptized, He went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on Him. And there came a voice from heaven: This is My beloved Son. I take delight in Him!” Matthew 3:16-17 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/mat.3.16-17.hcsb “Then Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it’s good for us to be here! If You want, I will make three tabernacles here: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said: This is My beloved Son. I take delight in Him. Listen to Him!” Matthew 17:4-5 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/mat.17.4-5.hcsb “Father, glorify Your name! ” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, a

“(The one who believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him. The one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony God has given about His Son.)” 1 John 5:10 HCSB

So what is God’s testimony? It’s all about His Son Jesus. God is still God but Jesus came to lay down His life for all the people of the world. He has earned the right to sit on the Throne of God with God. He has canceled the sin debt that we could not repay. It’s all about Jesus. From the beginning of sin it would be Jesus who comes to crush the head of satin.   “I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” Genesis 3:15 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/gen.3.15.hcsb In the end of the world it will be Jesus riding in on a white horse followed by His army to conquer satan and his people one last and final time. “Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness. His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on His head. He had a name written that no one knows except Himself. He wore a robe

“If we accept the testimony of men, God’s testimony is greater, because it is God’s testimony that He has given about His Son.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:9‬ ‭HCSB‬

Can we accept man’s words? Sure not every statement is a lie. But what about God’s word’s, can we believe them? 100 times more than man’s words. God is not a man that He should not lie, nor a son of man that He should change his mind (Numbers 23:19a). All scripture is God breathed and is useful for correcting, rebuking, teaching, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). His words are truth (John 17:17). God has established a rule that a matter must be true based on two or three witnesses (Deuteronomy 19:15). God does not break that rule. If God has said it then I will be confirmed by two or three witnesses! The water, blood, and Spirit testify together. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit testify together. God’s Word is spoken through God, by Jesus and is awakened by The Holy Spirit. We can trust God’s Word every time. Does He speak and not act, Does He promise and not fulfill (Numbers 23:19b)? “God is not a man who lies, or a son of man who changes His mind. Does He speak and not

“For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water, and the blood — and these three are in agreement.” 1 John 5:7-8 HCSB

“Jesus answered, “I assure you: Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:5-6 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/jhn.3.5-6.hcsb “According to the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Hebrews 9:22 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/heb.9.22.hcsb Hebrews 9:22 on my blo g The water and the spirit marks us as born. The blood marks us as redeemed and forgiven. They all say the same thing, “we belong to God”. For God loves everyone born out of water. Jesus spilled His blood so that all might be saved. The blood is applied to all who believe to wash us up. The spirit is given to all who believes so that we may understand God.

“Jesus Christ — He is the One who came by water and blood, not by water only, but by water and by blood. And the Spirit is the One who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Every life comes by water. The true test is does our blood (death) match our water (life)? Jesus’ did! What he preached He lived, and now He sits on God’s throne because He has accomplished everything God wanted Him to do (John 17:4). Jesus Job here on earth was to die for the sins of the world (salvation) and then to train the 12 apostles to live the New Life that would be given them on the day of Pentecost (discipleship). Peter then lived this out. He was fist concerned about getting people saved (Acts 2) then training others to Live. “And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for a few days.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:48‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ https://www.bible.com/72/act.10.48.hcsb If salvation was the end goal why did Cornelius and his house ask Peter to stay a few days?  Paul had this same mind set. Salvation first and discipleship second.  “On the contrary, after we had previously suffered, and we were treated outrageously in Philippi, as you know, we wer

“The victor: I will give him the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I also won the victory and sat down with My Father on His throne.” Revelation 3:21 HCSB

The one who does buy refined gold, white clothes, and healing ointment will be the one who has gotten the victory and will be sitting with Jesus on His throne in His kingdom. Just as a young prince or a young princess would in their daddy’s kingdom.   What would it profit a man to continue to gain in this world yet forfeit the right to sit with Jesus in His Kingdom (Luke 9:25 BRH)?   “Then He said to them all, “If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of Me will save it. What is a man benefited if he gains the whole world, yet loses or forfeits himself?” Luke 9:23-25 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/luk.9.23-25.hcsb   What else would we have to gain if we become a Victor? I am so glad you asked! Sin to avoid / gained / reference  Adultery / tree of life / Revelation 2:1-7 Discouragement / no 2nd death / 2:8-11 Sexual immorality / hidden man

“Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20 HCSB

Are you paying attention? Not to me or any other person? But to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit! He is willing to give wisdom. He is wiling to speak. He is willing to use. Are we will to receive? Are we willing to listen? Are we willing to be used? He is knocking! He will not beat down the door to get to us. He will not open the door Himself. He is waiting for the people of His Church to welcome Him into all areas of their lives. After all He is Lord. Which means He is in control of everything. He has the right to tell us what to do and to do with us as He pleases. God is not waiting to embarrass us, but to lift us up. He is not wanting to depress us but to encourage us. He is not wanting anything bad for us but for good. He is not cursing us but rather blessing us. Will we be a blessing to God or a hinderance? Will we be used by Him or will He have to use someone else? Or worse will he have to crush us to get us to a point where He can use us?   “The Lord is my shepherd; there is not

“As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be committed and repent.” Revelation 3:19 HCSB

We all want God to love us. That is why there is so many gods and each one has some kind of set of rules to win god’s love. But Yahweh, God the father, is the only one who does not have rules to obey to win His love. He is love. His love does not waiver weather we are obeying God or not. But everyone who is loved by God gets disciplined and rebuked. This is to bring out repentance and commitment in us. We however have another choice. We can become hard and disinterested. During and after God’s discipline we can either be better or bitter.   “Now I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because your grief led to repentance. For you were grieved as God willed, so that you didn’t experience any loss from us. For godly grief produces a repentance not to be regretted and leading to salvation, but worldly grief produces death.” 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/2co.7.9-10.hcsb ““Heavens, sprinkle from above, and let the skies shower righteousness. Let the earth o

“Because you say, ‘I’m rich; I have become wealthy and need nothing,’ and you don’t know that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked, I advise you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire so that you may be rich, white clothes so that you may be dressed and your shameful nakedness not be exposed, and ointment to spread on your eyes so that you may see.” Revelation 3:17-18 HCSB

God is our supply! The city of Laodicea was full of wealthy people. Several of them became Christians and they poured their money into the church. Then the church became rich and forgot about God. The pastor (the angel) also bought into this. Now that they have forgotten God they have not bought into God’s riches, but into the word’s riches. So how are they and us to buy from God gold, white clothes, and ointment?   “Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do what is good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good reserve for the age to come, so that they may take hold of life that is real.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/1ti.6.17-19.hcsb First we put our hope in God and not money.  ““Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! ” You ask: “How do we rob You
