Matthew 18:16 (CSB) "But if he won't listen, take one or two others with you, so that by the testimony of two or three witnesses every fact may be established.

If the one who has sinned against us does not repent at our rebuke, then we are to take a few others with us. These ought to be people who are more mature in The Lord and who is respected by the other person. If we brought people who is disliked by the one who sinned against us then they still won't listen to us. These two or three others need to agree with you that the brother or sister has indeed sinned against us. They would have either saw it or have heard both sides of the story and agree with our side. Galatians 5:24-6:1 (CSB) 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.6:1 Brothers and sisters, if someone is overtaken in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual, restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so that you also won't be tempted. 1 Corint

Matthew 18:15 (CSB) "If your brother sins against you, go and rebuke him in private. If he listens to you, you have won your brother.

Rebuke, today we don't like that word. It sounds harsh it sounds mean, but it should not be it should be out of love (Revelation 3:19). We should want our brothers and sisters In Christ to better their life. A rebuke can do this. 2 Timothy 3:16 says the word of God is useful for rebuke. Through prayer and concern for our fellow Christian we can take them the Word of God to shine a light into the sin in their life. The Holy Spirit may move upon you to prophecy to another person that their current course of life will lead to despair (1 Corinthians 14:3). It would be best to first tell this person in private, one on one. I heard a military person say one time, rebuke in private, and praise in public." A rebuke is hard enough to take without a bunch of other people hearing it. Psalm 141:5 (CSB) Let the righteous one strike me --it is an act of faithful love; let him rebuke me --it is oil for my head; let me not refuse it. Even now my prayer is against the evil acts of the wicke

Philippians 4:9 (CSB) Do what you have learned and received and heard from me, and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

Paul set his life as an example before all of the church. "Follow me as I follow Jesus" 1 Corinthians 11:1. "I become all things to all people so that some might get saved" 1 Corinthians 9:22. Each of us has someone whom we have followed at one time or another. And if we recognized it or not we have people who are following us. "Let your light shine before all men" Matthew 5:16. I strive to be the best example of Jesus as I can. Do you? We don't do this in just words but in action and truth. 1 John 3:18 (CSB) Little children, let us not love in word or speech, but in action and in truth. Talk is cheep and everyone has their opinion but when we love the world through our actions and The Bible we show them Jesus! "By this all men will know that you are My disciples if you love one another" John 13:34-35. When we are obedient to God and His Word, He does not leave us alone to figure it out on our own, but He promises to be with us. God the fath

Philippians 4:8 (CSB) Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable -- if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy -- dwell on these things.

Whatever is true: The world has lost sight of what is true. John 14:6 tells us Jesus is the way, the TRUTH and the life. John 17:17 says that God's word is TRUTH. Truth is founded in God. God is not a man who should lie or a son of man that He should change His mind (Numbers 23:19). Whatever is true dwell on such things! Whatever is Honorable: Exodus 20:12 (CSB) Honor your father and your mother so that you may have a long life in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. Leviticus 19:32 (CSB) "You are to rise in the presence of the elderly and honor the old. Fear your God; I am the LORD. Romans 13:7 (CSB) Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor. Proverbs 3:9 (CSB) Honor the LORD with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest; Many people deserve our Honor, parents, the elderly, military vets, current military, gove

Isaiah 26:8-9 (NLT) 8 LORD, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart's desire is to glorify your name. 9 All night long I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek for God. For only when you come to judge the earth will people learn what is right.

John 14:15, 21, 23-24 (CSB) "If you love me, you will keep my commands. 21 "The one who has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father. I also will love him and will reveal myself to him." 23 Jesus answered, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 "The one who doesn't love me will not keep my words. The word that you hear is not mine but is from the Father who sent me. Exodus 34:1-3 (CSB) 1 The LORD said to Moses, "Cut two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. 2 "Be prepared by morning. Come up Mount Sinai in the morning and stand before me on the mountaintop. 3 "No one may go up with you; in fact, no one should be seen anywhere on the mountain. Even the flocks and herds are not to graze in front of that mountain."

Philippians 4:7 (CSB) And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

When we choose thanksgiving in our prayers and petitions God WILL supply peace to our circumstances, guard our hearts to make the right choices, and guard our minds so that we may have clear knowledge and wisdom. The breastplate of righteousness and the shield of faith also protect your heart. The helmet of salvation protects your head (Ephesians 6:10-17). So how does thanksgiving bring about righteousness, faith, and salvation? Self thanksgiving results in selfish actions but if we focus on our limited ability and thank God for his unlimited ability then we can live in righteousness (Luke 18:9-14). As we thank God for previous victory we can have faith God will provide future victories. Salvation is a matter of thanksgiving. We are thankful for what Jesus did for us on the cross. We are thankful for all the times He saves us each day. We are thankful for the future salvation when we are no longer in this world but in the eternal presence of God. But if we can't be thankful for the

Philippians 4:6 (CSB) Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

To God attitude means a lot. I want to say it is everything but only by Jesus are we saved not by our attitude. We see that in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving we are to present our requests to God. Matthew 5:22 (CSB) "But I tell you, everyone who is angry with his brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Whoever insults his brother or sister, will be subject to the court. Whoever says, 'You fool! ' will be subject to hellfire. Matthew 12:36 (CSB) "I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to account for every careless word they speak. The words we speak do matter but the attitude behind them matters more. We will not be judged by every word we speak, but by every carless,  idle, foolish, worthless, empty, lazy, flippant, or unthought out word. When we fly off the cuff we are in dangerous territory because we are no longer of sound mind but we are letting our mouth talk before our heads and heart can correct our words

Philippians 4:6 (CSB) Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

In everything present your requests to God. This is what we are to do. The how is through prayers and petitions. The attitude we are to have is thanksgiving. Geneses 1:1 says in the beginning God... In the begin of what? Time, yes, but also in the beginning of your situation God is ready for you to bring it to Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says cast all your cares on Him. If we give it all to God then the only thing left to do is serve and love God. Everything else will come from God. Numbers 23:19 says God is not a man that He should lie. He has said that He gives good gifts to His children who ask him. Then we can be thankful because He will answer.

Philippians 4:5 (CSB) Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.

New living translation says it this way, Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Do we consider others before our selves (Philippians 2:3-4)? Do we go out of our way to help someone? Do we show God's grace to everyone we know? Or are we deciding to take revenge into our own hands (Deuteronomy 32:35)? Do we serve people with a desire to see all people come to the saving grace of Jesus, not to our gain but theirs (1 Corinthians 9:19, Mark 10:45)?

Philippians 4:4 (CSB) Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Rejoice while you are prospering! Easy! Rejoice while you are helping your brother! Easy! Rejoice while everything is bleak! Not so easy. Rejoice durning your darkest storm! Ummm. Rejoice while The Lord correcting you! I umm don't know if I can.  Rejoice always! See we do not need to fear or fret the circumstances or obstacles. We don't even rejoice in circumstances or obstacles. We rejoice in The Lord. Jeremiah 29:11 (CSB) "For I know the plans I have for you" -- this is the LORD's declaration -- "plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 31:17 (CSB) There is hope for your future --this is the LORD's declaration --and your children will return to their own territory. Proverbs 23:18 (CSB) For then you will have a future, and your hope will not be dashed. Romans 8:28 (CSB) We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. Lord I thank

Philippians 4:3 (CSB) Yes, I also ask you, true partner, to help these women who have contended for the gospel at my side, along with Clement and the rest of my coworkers whose names are in the book of life.

Who was Paul's coworkers? Peter, Apollos, Barnabas, Aquila, Priscilla, Euodia, Syntyche, Clement, for a few examples. But really to Paul every one who's name was written in the Book of Life. Who has their name written in the Book of Life? Those who have come to trust Jesus! Those who are called Christian, son or daughter, friend. Paul is asking the true partner in Philippi to help all Christians! Galatians 6:10 (NASB) So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. When we do good to all people especially fellow Christians we are helping them. Some times it is with money. Some times it is serving. Some times it is prayer. Some times it is just company. But all the time it is good.

Philippians 4:2 (CSB) I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to agree in the Lord.

These two women had helped Paul while he was in Philippi, now they are not getting along. Paul separately urges them to rectify their relationship. Euodia means a good journey. She was not living up to her name. She had let a small disagreement complicate her walk with Christ and her life.  Syntyche means fortunate. She had the blessings of God on her life and due to this agreement she was not receiving all the blessings from God. We each have about three names. We have the name our parents gave us at birth. Each one of us is called Christian, son or daughter, friend if we have accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. We also have a new name only which we will know when we overcome the Evil One (Revelation 2:7). Are we living up to our name as Christian, Son or Daughter, Friend?  Christian is Christ one, are we being the best ambassador, high commissioner, for Jesus? Are we displaying Christ in our life? How about son or daughter of God? The kids of high ranking officials, like king or presi

Philippians 4:1 (CSB) So then, my dearly loved and longed for brothers and sisters, my joy and crown, in this manner stand firm in the Lord, dear friends.

In what manner? Verses 3:20-21 tells us we are to eagerly wait for Jesus. So in this manner stand firm in The Lord. The Philippians seemed to be held dear to Paul. He called them dearly loved, my joy, my crown, dear friends. Paul also seemed to be longing to see them because he missed them (Philippians 1:8). He wanted them to not give up but keep seeking after God and keep serving God till either Paul gets back to them or they get to behold the heavenly glory of Jesus the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). So I too charge you and me to keep up the faith, keep up the Good fight, to press on toward heaven. Don't give up for our time is just about over. We are seeing less and less days ahead of us before He does call us Home! Don't give up!
